Gift Guide: What I Want for Christmas

People seem to think that minimalists are hard to shop for, but we're really not. Last year, I published a gift guide for minimalists to give you a little direction but this year I'm getting even more specific and sharing what's on my own list. It's a strange way to share a gift guide, to be sure, but I think it's really helpful to see exactly what someone wants, rather than broad categories of gift ideas. Maybe something on my own list will spark an idea for your own holiday shopping!

2022 Goal Planner. You had to know this would make the list! I go back and forth on using a paper planner for my daily life - sometimes, I just really don't need it and find it more work than it is useful. But a goal planner is a must for me. I really enjoy setting these overarching, long term goals like with the yearly goals and the 101 in 1001 list, and those things need to be broken down into daily, weekly, and monthly steps if I want to make steady progress on them. Very few are one and done type goals. So I need a space to track these little steps and be able to see the progress I'm making, and I just prefer to do that on paper rather than digitally. I used the PowerSheets in 2021 and really enjoyed it, so I'm sticking with it for 2022. And I actually already have it, at the time this post goes live, because John bought it for me on launch day in October for my birthday, but I wanted to mention it here in case you need a good holiday gift idea!

Leaf Step Tracker. I want a step tracker, but I really hate tight things on my wrist, so watches are out. No Apple Watch or Fitbit for this girl. Instead, I want the Bellabeat Leaf. It can be worn on the wrist, but it can also be worn as a necklace or clipped to your clothes or shoes. Perfect! I think it'll really help me be more mindful about daily movement if I have a more accurate step tracker, just to gauge my current levels and then increase them in 2022 (but more on that goal next month.)

Perfume. I love the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon perfume, it's my favorite fall and winter scent. They've either discontinued it or cut way back, because I can never find it at the places I used to shop. But I've also seen no official statements that it's discontinued?! It is still available though at some online locations, so I added it to my wish list in the rollerball form (my preferred method for perfume application), which would make a great stocking stuffer. I've talked about this perfume before and I know a few people also went out and bought it and love it, so I still highly recommend it, if you can find it!

Function of Beauty Hair Care. I already got my first set of 'personalized' shampoo and conditioner and it's worked really well for the past couple of months. I was able to combine a few wants into one, which was nice - can't do that with regular shampoo without buying a few different bottles. Plus picking the scent and putting your name on the bottle is just fun. It's pricey but similarly priced to other high end shampoos like Purology. I'm not against paying for it myself (clearly, I already did!), but since I need a new batch just in time for the new year, it's the perfect addition to my Christmas list. I just have to make sure John orders it from my account so it has the right blend!

Food Sensitivity Test. I feel like I might already know this information, but I would like a test to confirm whether or not something actually bothers me or if it's just in my head. Also, I tend to eat the things I think I'm sensitive to in combination with other items, so it can be hard to tell which is the culprit. Take pizza for example - there's gluten, dairy, tomatoes, sugar within the tomato sauce, etc etc. I'm very curious to know what mine are. Which is a weird thing to want as a gift but I'm certainly not going to shell out my own $100 for it.

Do you have anything on your wishlist this year?
